Arrived to Georgia Sports Performance to help with weight room setup and management. GSP is always looking to improve upon its facility whether it is raw space or equipment. Today, new lifting platforms were installed that we got from an old charter high school. The platforms are in great shape and low priced. The purchase saved us money, but also upgraded our weight room experience and capabilities. It is always important to look at every option when upgrading. Sometimes the easiest solution like buying brand new equipment is not the best solution for the organization. The new platforms are very functional and did not blow the budget out of the water. I also assisted in youth training sessions. I learned that it is different being the one trained versus training someone especially youth. It is one thing to know how to do something, but completely different and challenging to teach it to someone else.
First day working out as well as starting up my summer internship at Georgia Sports Performance. The facility is a heath and fitness clubs that train athletes of all ages for all levels of competition. The club also offers private memberships for individual training and workouts. I have been with the owner, Earl Williams, for about 6-7 years and seen his business grow and the changes it has gone through to reach the point it is at now. We have been through three facility changes, a few partnerships, as well as many different clients. A lot has gone into the organization and I am very anxious to get started with GSP.
Just trying out the blog format. I think I'll be using this for my journal entries.
